SA Endocrine Research Pty Ltd (SAER)
SA Endocrine Research was established in 1995 by Principal Investigator, Dr Anthony (Tony) Roberts, Consultant Endocrinologist.
SAER is a leading Australian private research centre based in Adelaide and has conducted more than 200 international clinical trials in diabetes, obesity, impaired glucose tolerance, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis and new device technology.
All clinical trials are conducted under the authority of the Bellberry Human Research Ethics committee, the largest private ethics committee in Australia which is based in Adelaide. Safety is paramount in research and all research conducted at SAER is performed under stringent conditions, which are constantly audited to ensure participant safety.
Dr Anthony (Tony) Roberts supervises a team of experienced Endocrinologists and Registered nurses who are involved in the conduct of the clinical trials and in the care of the volunteers. Dr Roberts has over 30 international research publications, is highly respected as a principal investigator and is actively involved in the research and with the trial participants.
Dr Jui Ho, Consultant Endocrinologist, PhD and Co Investigator has been performing research for over 10 years and is well published.
Jan Carr, Clinical Trials Manager, is a Registered Nurse and Scientist and is a Credentialled Diabetes Educator. Jan has worked at SAER since 1995.
Involvement in a clinical trial provides volunteers the opportunity to receive treatment options which are not available outside of the clinical trial setting, often years ahead of the PBS. Participants are warmly welcomed at SAER and receive ‘priority’ treatment
